At Federation University Australia, we aim to make a real difference to the lives of every student who walks through our doors, and to the communities we help build and are proud to be part of. Our modern approach to teaching and learning within our higher education and TAFE offerings makes us one of Australia’s leading regional universities.
Today, we are proud to have 18,500 domestic and international students and 125,000 alumni across Australia and the world. Into our supportive, inclusive and thriving community, we welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures – this is reflected in our number one ranking in Australia for first-generation enrolments by the Good Universities Guide.
Federation is Australia’s first co-operative university, getting students work and world ready through direct connection to employers and co-op experiential learning. Co-op means our students can succeed wherever they start on their study journey through a suite of courses co-designed, co-developed and co-delivered in partnership with industry. In 2024, we are offering Co-op degrees across Science, Engineering, Business and IT. Between now and the end of 2025 we will embed Co-op across our suite of University and TAFE courses, with delivery commencing in 2026.
Federation is rated by the Good Universities Guide as the number one university in Australia for first generation student enrolment and number one in Victoria for undergraduate starting salary and social equity, while we are also ranked number one in Australia for Overall Education Experience in the Engineering & Technology and Law & Paralegal disciplines.
The research conducted at Federation University is world class with Business and Economics, Clinical and Health, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Psychology, and Social Sciences included in the Times Higher Education (THE) Subject rankings for 2023.
