At Federation University Australia, we aim to make a real difference to the lives of every student who walks through our doors, and to the communities we help build and are proud to be part of.

Our modern approach to teaching and learning within our higher education and TAFE offerings makes us one of Australia’s leading regional universities.

Today, Federation is proud to have a network of over 130,000 alumni across Australia and the world. Into our supportive, inclusive and thriving community, we welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures — this is reflected in our number one ranking in Australia for first-in-family enrolments since 2018 by the Good Universities Guide.

Federation is Australia’s first co-operative university, getting students work and world ready through direct connection to employers and co-op experiential learning. Co-op means our students can succeed wherever they start on their study journey through a suite of courses co-designed, co-developed and co-delivered in partnership with industry.

Federation is currently offering Co-op degrees across Science,Engineering, Business, Arts, Education and IT, and Co-op will be embedded across the full suite of University and TAFE courses ready for delivery in 2026.

In the latest Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT)Graduate Outcomes Survey, Federation University Australia is the highest-ranking University in Victoria — and second in Australia — for full-time postgraduate employment, and is second among Victorian universities for full-time undergraduate employment.

The research conducted at Federation University is classified as above world class in numerous disciplines including Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, Health Sciences, Engineering, and Biological Sciences and Federation is ranked by Times Higher Education (THE) in the top 401–500 Universities globally, and in the top 151–200 Young Universities in the world.
