However, Australian universities, who provide the majority of pre-registration training for health profession students, are already regulated by Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). Any additional impost on university staff because of regulation is best avoided to maximise workforce outcomes. UA believes there is room for increased harmonisation between Ahpra and TEQSA processes, which will help reduce duplication, minimise inconsistencies between disciplines, and remove impediments to innovation.
