Support and recognition for teaching excellence
The Universities Australia Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Committee has been exploring a collaborative, sector-wide approach to professional recognition of educators.
The process has occurred in the context of the loss of the former Office for Learning and Teaching, significant changes to national teaching excellence, program awards and citations, and the introduction of performance-based funding.
This work has culminated in a Statement of Principles for Professional Development and Recognition of Educators, which was formally endorsed in July 2019 by all 39 Universities Australia Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) member representatives.
