UNIVERSITIES TAKING AUSTRALIA AND INDIA’S RELATIONSHIP TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Universities Australia Chief Executive Catriona Jackson will travel to India this week to deliver the keynote address at the 2023 Universities20 Conference alongside Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Coinciding with the G20 Education Working Group Meeting and Education Ministers Meeting in Pune, the conference will be attended by university leaders from all G20 countries.

Ms Jackson will outline how universities can take Australia and India’s relationship to the next level.

Indian government officials and sector leaders will also address the conference (19-21 June at Symbiosis International University).

Ms Jackson will also attend a series of industry roundtable meetings, which will focus on strengthening and maximising the relationship between universities and fast-growing sectors of the economy to drive economic growth and prosperity.

Ms Jackson was a member of the Prime Minister’s business delegation to India in March for the Australia-India CEO Forum.

Attributable to Universities Australia Chief Executive Catriona Jackson:

“We are entering a golden era in our relationship with India and education is key to maximising the opportunities before us.

“Our governments are supporting and promoting the key role universities will play in taking the relationship to the next level.

“Education brings opportunity and advancement – for individuals, communities and economies – which is why India is aiming to educate 500 million people by 2035.

“Australia’s universities are here to help India realise its bold, nation-changing ambition – for our mutual benefit.”
