Ms Schubert brings outstanding experience and expertise to the role with almost two decades working in both communications and the media.
A Vice President of the National Press Club, she was the National Political Editor of The Sunday Age and has been a correspondent at The Age and The Australian as well as a regular ABC and Sky commentator.
More recently Ms Schubert has been the Director of Communications for the RECOGNISE movement which is campaigning for the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Australian Constitution.
Ms Schubert will take up the position on 31 August, replacing Louise Dodson who has opted to move to head up Universities Australia’s Copyright and Information Policy area on a part-time basis.
