A further 35 universities have been ranked, making Australia the 10th most represented higher education system in the world out of more than 100.
“Today’s terrific results reinforce Australia’s position as a global education leader,” Universities Australia Chief Executive Catriona Jackson said.
“Australia’s standing as a top destination to work and study has reached new heights, achieving the highest scores for our ability to attract world-class staff from across the globe, and international students.
“The achievement is welcome news as we work our way back to the position of strength Australia’s universities held prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s also pleasing to see the ranking system introduce employment outcomes, sustainability, and international research collaboration as new indicators.
“These are areas our universities excel in, and the results confirm this.
“Our universities work hard and innovatively – shaping the bright futures of millions of individuals, helping solve the most pressing challenges and leaving a positive mark on society.”
