Universities Australia Chief Executive Officer Luke Sheehy said the research areas captured in this year’s scheme demonstrate how much universities matter to our future.
“Research is the foundation of progress – driving innovation, solving real-world challenges and shaping a better future,” Mr Sheehy said.
“International research collaborations are vital to securing our success, safety and prosperity in a changing global environment and we’re thrilled to be continuing to work with our close partner Germany – a powerhouse in research and development.”
Researchers will spend time at partner institutions in Germany and vice versa, supported by more than $2.2 million in funding under the 2025 round.
The Australia-Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme is a joint initiative of Universities Australia and the German Academic Exchange Service—Germany’s national agency for the support of international academic cooperation.
The partnership has fostered high-quality research collaboration and supported the exchanges of researchers since 2015.
