2024 SHAPING AUSTRALIA AWARDS NOW OPEN

UA is now accepting entries for the 2024 Shaping Australia Awards from university teams and individuals driving impactful solutions to the country’s biggest challenges and making a difference to the lives of all Australians.

The Shaping Australia Awards recognise outstanding initiatives in teaching, research and community service that contribute to shaping Australia’s future.

“We are thrilled to launch the 2024 Shaping Australia Awards following the success of last year’s inaugural program,” Universities Australia Chief Executive Officer Luke Sheehy said.

“These awards celebrate the very best of what our universities and their talented people do to advance our country.

“From groundbreaking research to inspiring teaching and community initiatives, our universities play a vital role in shaping a better Australia for all Australians.

“There is no shortage of examples of people going above and beyond to drive new knowledge and ideas, inspire people in the classroom and help their communities in good times and bad.

“Last year’s awards highlighted innovations such as fireproof paint for bushfire protection, improving beach accessibility for people disabilities and innovative teaching programs to ensure our kids get the best education possible.”

Entries are now open across three categories:

• The Problem Solver Award recognising groundbreaking research that has, or has the potential, to transform the lives of Australians.
• The Future Builder Award celebrating educators that have gone above and beyond to equip their students with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact.
• The Community Champion Award honouring community-focused initiatives making a difference to communities and the people who call them home.

Each category will have two winners selected – one by public vote and the other by a panel of distinguished Australians, soon to be announced.

Submissions are now open and will close on 18 September 2024.

Please visit shapingaustraliaawards.com.au for more information, key dates and how to enter.
