Universities Australia presented the UA Student Governance Symposium, in collaboration with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney.
This event was an opportunity to shape the sector-wide narrative on how students can contribute positively to strong governance at universities, and by extension, to vibrant and inclusive university communities.
The event brought together students, leaders, university executives, academic and professional staff to discuss and explore good governance at universities with a focus on involving students meaningfully.
Keynote speakers and panel sessions covered topics such as:
- The role of the student voice in university governance
- Structural and cultural considerations for good governance
- Strategies for fostering inclusive and effective decision-making
