Since opening our doors in 1974, Murdoch University has been a university of difference. The second university in Western Australia, Murdoch was established on the lands of the Whadjuk and Binjareb Noongar people, the boodjar (country) having been a place of learning for thousands of years – we are proud to continue this tradition.
Our new strategy, Ngala kwop biddi: Building a brighter future, together, reaffirmed our purpose, focusing on three strategic themes: Sustainability; Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; and First Nations.
Although the challenges facing our world are considerable, Murdoch is ideally placed to contribute to solutions, while enabling our students and staff to realise their full potential.
This commitment also extends within, as we take action to achieve a truly sustainable campus with targets for carbon neutrality across our operations, zero per cent waste to landfill, and a net zero transport plan by 2030.
Murdoch’s flagship location in Perth is one of the largest urban campuses in Australia, boasting a working farm and a vast expanse of natural bushland teeming with unique wildlife.
At the heart of the campus is Boola Katitjin, a dynamic teaching space that combines modern, sustainable design and digital technology, where students, teachers, and industry can learn, collaborate and socialise.
In Perth’s southern corridor, Murdoch’s Mandurah campus is home to nursing degrees taught in state-of-the-art simulation suites, and our Rockingham campus hosts our pro bono law clinic and some of our successful enabling programs.
Our international campuses in Singapore and Dubai deliver a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses from vibrant, state-of-the-art facilities.
Across the entire university, our shared purpose is to change lives and society for the better through accessible education and research, contributing to the solution of societal and environmental challenges and providing an inclusive, caring community in which everyone can realise their potential.
